Why Harpers?

~ Harp music creates a calming musical atmosphere that soothes the nerves and offers a welcome respite from care and worry for patients, families, caregivers, and visitors.

~ A Mayo Clinic study on harp music showed a marked decrease in fatigue, anxiety, sadness, and pain and an improvement in the ability to relax and sleep more soundly. It was specifically recommended for end-of-life care.

~ A variety of studies show that listening to therapeutic music can relax muscle tension, improve oxygenation to the blood, slow the heart rate, and support more desirable blood pressure levels.

~ Harp music is often specifically requested by patients in transition. The vibration of the harp strings not only creates beautiful tones, but carries a nurturing, calming resonance to the cells of the body that promotes a peaceful sense of emotional well-being.
